About  Me!
My name is Shubo Yu! A freelancer and picture book illustrator living in Baltimore currently! I am open to editorial commision!

I was born in Hiroshima, Japan, and grew up in Japan and China. I lived with my parents in Kyoto and Tokyo before I started elementary school, and then we returned to China. I spent a few years in Changchun, a northern city, and then moved to Shanghai until I graduated from high school. After that, I came to the US and earned my BFA at Maryland Institute College of Art. The experience of living in different places gives me the inspiration to draw.  

I create most of the work with detailed linework and rich textures.  Also, I enjoy adding some witty elements to my drawings.
